The Isle of Thanet Sunrise 'Last Tango in Minnis' Race Night held on 18th May 2018

Once again club members, their friends and families gathered for the annual race night.

Unlike other race nights, films or battery-operated toys, ours has audience participation and needs stamina!!! This is one of our “Fun while fund raising” nights.

Each year there is a different theme for the race night. This year the theme was dancing, which President Kevin much enjoys (although his aptitude for it is quite another matter!).

Four wires stretch across the ceiling of Kearns Hall each with a dancing couple dangling from them. The aim is to get the couples across the hall as quickly as possible to burst a balloon at the other end with a needle attached to them.

"Twiddlers", each using just one finger, furiously winch their dancers across the ceiling to roars of encouragement from the audience.

The race ends when the first balloon bursts and successful punters pick up their winnings

A hilarious time was had by all with a lot of money raised for good causes.
