Visit to Minster Abbey 18th July 2018

Just one small beautiful part of the gardens
There is seating inside and out together with a children's play area

Club members were invited to a family barbecue at Minster Abbey Tea rooms today. The tea rooms and adjoining garden are run by the 'Looking Ahead' project that supports adults with learning needs, enabling them to develop various skills.

The club has supported this project in the past and a further donation was given today to purchase materials for their new pottery workshop.

The students work in the tea rooms, formal gardens, vegetable gardens, also woodwork, pottery and crafts.

Excellent example of the work students do at the Abbey

A lot of hard work has been done, with the latest part of the project being up-cycled furniture.

The project also has the King St Gallery and tea rooms in Margate where Brian also runs art classes (see "Art class and afternoon cream tea" above).

The Abbey tea rooms and gardens is such a tranquil place for a spot of lunch or afternoon tea if you're out that way and a great way to support a really worthwhile project.

Donation by President Kevin to Linda at Minster Abbey
