Climbing the Millennium Dome at the 02 Arena in aid of the "End Polio Now" campaign

What the climb was all about

Forty seven Rotarians from District 1120 comprising Kent, Sussex, Surrey and parts of outer London climbed the roof of the O2 arena on Tuesday the 23rd October 2018 in aid of the "End Polio Now" campaign.

They included from our club President Kevin Winzer, Diane Smith and Margaret Jones.

All three kitted out for the climb

these three between them raised £1070 in pledges. That will be matched 2:1 by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (Bill is also a Rotarian), making £3210 raised for vaccines.

With the polio oral vaccine costing just 20 pence per child that means 16,050 children will be protected for the rest of their lives. And that results from just our three members taking part!!!!

Oral Vaccination protecting a child for the rest of its life

Wonderful achievement.
